Creating your own Valheim server

If you've ever wanted to set up your own Valheim server but didn't want to deal with the complexities and headaches of doing it by yourself, you've come to the right place! Gone are the days where you have to have an FTP client to download and save files and guess how to make something work. ValheimServerHosting.com offers a quick and easy way to create and manage Valheim servers for you and your friends.

How do I create a Valheim server?

There are two ways that you can create a server with us. You can create either a trial server or a paid server.

Creating a Trial server

Trial servers are offered in two different flavors: 24 hour trials and 8 hour trials. 24 hour trials are only for new users, while 8 hour trials are for existing users.
Trial servers can be created right from the ValheimServerHosting home page. All you need to do enter is your email, password, and preferred server region! 24 hour trial users do not need to provide billing information of any kind until they are ready to pay.

After entering those details, you'll be led to the server creation screen. From here, we'll allocate resources, generate your world, and secure your server with a password. This process can take anywhere from 1-5 minutes in total.

Creating a Paid server

An active credit or debit card is required to create Paid servers.
Paid servers can be created in a similar fashion to Trial servers. You can follow this step-by-step guide if you are having any issues with creating paid servers.

As an existing user, you will have access to the ValheimServerHosting dashboard. From here, you can click on the Server Setup menu option on the left-hand sidebar to begin creating a new server.
In the Server Setup screen, you will need to enter your server's name, password, and preferred region.
After entering your server's details, you will be brought to the World Configuration step. You are given two options here: you can choose to let Valheim generate a new world for you, or you can upload an existing world to your server. During server creation, you can only upload one world. If you want to upload multiple worlds to your server, you can do that from the Server Dashboard, which is accessible after the server is created.
Once you're satisfied with how your Valheim world will be configured, we'll start creating your server for you! This entire process can take up to 5 minutes.
After a few minutes, your server should be ready for players! By default, all servers created by existing users are given a free 8 hour trial with limited server management features. This period is intended for you to be able to check out your experience with your server in terms of internet connection before committing to a payment plan. If server performance for you is not satisfactory, you can delete this server you just created and you can start up another server in a different region. You are only allowed to have one trial server running at any given time.
From this point, you can either check out your server's dashboard or pay for your server. Since you're on the free 8 hour trial, you can send the server details to your friends and you can start playing!
